5-Year Anniversary at Ginger 62 - Thursday, August 28th This special night will feature some special performances, drink specials and giveaways all night long. The VIP reception lasts from 6pm to 9pm (by invite only) and the rest of the night kicks off at 9pm.
So, join us on Thursday, August 28th, 2008, where we party with our people, the partygoers, the media, the promoters, the DJs and the staff of Ginger 62. It will be a very special night as we celebrate the reopening of the beautiful and newly renovated Ginger, as well as the 5 year anniversary of A-Town Productions....

VIP Reception on Thursday, August 28th from 6pm to 9pm Whether it was Atish Ram at Zindagi TV, or Harp Sandhar from IndiPop, there were a handful of people that helped get our nights off the ground. Next week, we offer them our love and thanks with a VIP Reception from 6pm to 9pm at Ginger 62. So, if you're in that special group of people... please look out for your invites, RSVP right away and come out on Thursday, August 28th from 6pm to 9pm. Thanks to the faith of the Sugar brothers Jason and Damon, we actually got this night off the ground on August 16th, 2003... and had a great time doing it. Since then, we've hopped around to a variety of venues, some of them the finest in the city, including: Crush, ZIN on Robson, Fluid, the Alibi Room, Azure, and finally Ginger 62. It was at Ginger that we decided to make our stand and take our adhoc club nights regular as a 23+ South Asian retro/new school mashup night called High Society. Aside from that, we've also had the opportunity to throw the absolute largest South Asian jams in the city (we had 1,300+ people at the Rocky Mountaineer Train Station!) and work with the biggest names in the Bhangra music industry, globally. Seriously... we're freaking crazy. Thanks are due to DJ Reminisce and DJ Lajit for holding it down for 5 bloody years with a pain in the ass organization like A-Town. Thanks also to the staff and management of Ginger 62 for treating us like family. Good times. |

Pictures from Renovations at Ginger 62 We mentioned before that Ginger62 was being gutted for renovations, hence our July gig had to be canceled. Well, they're knee-deep in sawdust and things are on schedule for a grand reopening in just over a week. High Society will actually be the first night back after renovations.
What they're doing with the space is incredible. It may not look like much now, but just wait till you see where this is headed.
The old Ginger 62 will live on in our hearts, but i'm sure we'll fall in love with the new space soon enough. Props to the staff and management for having the vision to pull off such a cool redesign of Vancouver's best lounge space.

Our own Hiten Paintal is a riot in Bachna Ae Haseeno Playing sidekick and best friend to Raj (played by Ranbir Kapoor) is Hiten Paintal. The character is one of those wise-cracking, party-goers that you can't help but identify with (well... at least we did, but we're all about drunken debauchery). Anyways, the movie's out now so check it before it's out of theatres!
